Dear all,

Due to a scheduling conflict with the mission retreat in Baden-Baden, our February Holy Eucharist service is moved to the third Sunday of the month (19.02.2012), same time (17:00) and place (St. Jakob) as usual. Ascension’s Rev. Steven R. Smith will be celebrating the Eucharist.

The events calendar has been updated. We’re back to the usual 2nd Sunday of the month in March.

  • Christingle Service for Children: On Saturday, December 18 at 4 pm we will celebrate a Christingle service at Evangelisch St. Jakob in the Coffee Hour room to prepare our children for Christmas. You don’t know what christingles are? Well come and join in!
  • Help needed: On Sunday, December 19, we will have a table at the Christmas Sale of the Church of the Ascension in Munich after their church service and accompanying their traditional Carol Sing at 2 pm. If you can help to staff the table, please talk to email hidden; JavaScript is required or email hidden; JavaScript is required.
  • The vicar is on holidays: From December 27, 2010 through January 2, 2011 the vicar will be on holidays. During that time please contact the rector, the Rev. Steve Smith for any emergencies occuring.
  • St. James the Less supports the Nürnberger Tafel: The Nürnberger Tafel is providing groceries (food only) once a week for 6,000 poor people in Nürnberg. We continue to help! Please bring some food to our next service. Any even so small donation will be appreciated. Most needed are things with long expiration dates which are usually not provided by others, especially noodles, rice, lentils, flour, sugar, dried beans. At your next shopping trip, please consider to buy something extra and to bring it to church next time!
  • Please continue to pray for St. James the Less, St. Boniface, Augsburg and the Church of the Ascension, Munich: We are all in a period of changes and chances. Please keep the two missions St. James the Less in Nuremberg and St. Boniface in Augsburg as well as the Church of the Ascension with Rev. Steve and the leadership of all those places in your daily prayers.
  • Please notify the vicar if you hear of anyone in the congregation who is sick. The vicar will include them in her prayers and visit if appropriate.
