22 May – Worship Service and Fr. Dennis’ Retirement Party

After four wonderful years with us and our sister church, St. Boniface Augsburg, Fr. Dennis Krumlauf and his wife Jane are headed back to the US to enjoy retirement and their grandchildren.

While Fr. Dennis and Jane are leaving, the rest of us will still be here, worshipping together every second and fourth Sunday at St Jakob’s, at 16:00. Right now, we’ll have Evening Prayers services with hymns, under the direct guidance of Bishop Pierre at the American Catherdral in Paris. We are looking for our next priest, and plan to have other retired Episcopalian, Anglican and Lutheran priests conduct communion services from time to time, with a vision of increasing the overall service schedule to every Sunday.

Come grow with us.

International Worship Service, 8 May 2016, 17:00

Instead of our regular Sunday service, we will be joining with many other international churches in and around Nuremberg for the Internationaler Gottesdienst. Gospel singing starts at 16:30, and the main service at 17:00.

After the service, there will be a huge multicultural food fest outside. Join us!

10 April 2016 – Worship Service, Despite Expected Protests

Our regular semi-monthly service will still take place as planned on 10 April 2016, at 4pm (16:00). However, due to the expected Turkish/Kurdish protests planned for that day in the Jakobsplatz, the service will be upstairs, on the first floor. There is an elevator.

Our small parking lot will be open, but street parking might be tight. The Jakobsgarage will be open. If you wish to take public transit, use either the Weißer Turn (U1) or Plärrer stop (U1, U2/U3).

Easter 2016 at St. James! Remember to spring forward an hour…

Easter falls on the 4th Sunday of March this year, so we will be having an Easter Service!

Worship starts at 16:00, with Coffee Hour (and sweets!) following, all in the large parish hall at the Jakobskirche (2nd floor, elevator access)

Remember to “spring forward” on Saturday night – Daylight Savings/Summer Time begins this Saturday night in Europe.

Service of Lessons and Carols – 26 December, 2pm

Join St. James the Less on Boxing Day (day after Christmas) at 14:00 for our annual Service of Lessons and Carols. This is your chance to sing your favorites and perhaps hear a new one from the US or Britain! Coffee, tea and snacks to follow.

The service will be upstairs (2nd floor) in the large parish hall. There is an elevator.

Worship Service with Bishop Pierre, 22 November 4pm

This Sunday we have a special guest – our Bishop, Pierre Whalon, will be here from Paris for his annual visit. Please stay after the service for coffee, cake and a discussion about what you want for St. James the Less’s future. Whether you’re a regular, come to services occasionally or are merely curious about what this Episcopalian community can do for you and you for it, you are welcome in this meeting.

Our service will be in the large parish hall on the 2nd floor. There is an elevator.

October 11 Service, 4pm, St Jakobs

Our regular 2nd Sunday service will be in the main church, followed by coffee and snacks upstairs.

If you would like to bring baked goods for our Musical Tea Party on October 24, please let Rev. Dennis or one of the Bishop’s Committee members know what you’re planning to bring.

July 26 Sunday Worship, 4pm at Jakobskirche

St. James the Less will have our 4th Sunday worship service in Jakobskirche’s recently-renovated parish hall at 4pm (16:00) on 26 July 2015. We will have coffee, tea and snacks afterwards.

The church’s renovations include an elevator, so this room is completely accessible.
